This is the one where I show MY version of a "no makeup" look, sometimes we just want that effortless look when really you sent a little more time just trying to look like your human. It is always good to take that little time for yourself, even if it is putting a little bit of makeup, works for me. This is the look I have been going for almost the whole summer, just that effortless, healthy, less done up look. Hope you likely!! Last week was so busy, was a good thing that I had all of the post planned ahead of time, giving myself a pat on the back hehehe. It did inspire me to start these "Last Week" trilogies, not every single week but once in awhile. My mom was off last week, which was nice to spend some time together since were both busy with work and of course everyday life, we both decided to keep each other company at our doctors appointments. Then later go grocery shopping, which I usually hate doing That same day I went to see my favourite band in the whole wide world, COLDPLAY with my two best friends, been waiting a year to see them and of course they did not disappoint. Their shows are always full of fun, laughs, love, and happiness (my second time seeing them in Toronto). On Thursday my family and I went to the CNE like we do every summer, its always bitter-sweet because that means summers almost over, but with the weather lately it seems it's already Fall which is very depressing. My mom and I of course did some shopping during the week, we are each others biggest enabler's. She helped me find a dress for a birthday party I'm going to this weekend. I hope you guys like this series because I like reading these kinda posts, please let me know and I will see you all on Wednesday. Happy Monday! Love, Brittany Here are my favourite from the month of August, I usually find that I don't have a lot of favourites to do a post because I stick to the same products, being that I have only one base to use because of my tan hehehe. I'm actually quick surprised by the list of things I have going, not in a bad way, more in a sense of now things items have become apart of my routines now.
For example, the Makeup Forever Pro Sculpting Palette in 20 is something I had to pack with me on my recent weekend trip to Wellend, never thought I would enjoy using as much as I have. The tarte double ended brush is perfect for this cream contours, been loving it also. My next item I have been loving is the Buxom lip glosses the ones with the 'plumping' effect, I love the formula, even the peppermint-like plumping effect. It has been leaving in all of my purses. If you read my 4 Things post, you know that I was going to be trying the Avon Satin Glow body moisturizer, I did and I love how it has been keeping my tan on longer, highly suggest trying this out. I haven't been wearing much on the eyes except cream shadow sticks, especially this one from NARS called Hollywoodland (lets just take a moment to thank NARS forgiving the prodcut such a easy name you CAN pronounce, just joking). I recent placed an order to EllandEmm which you guys know is one of my fav online stores, I picked up Jenn's very popular lock it cuff in gold and silver, but have been obsessed with the silver, great piece! Have a wonderful weekend loves :) Love, Brittany This is my first post about the products I use for my natural hair, it's something that has gone through lots of trials and errors. My hair type used to be super curly and got tangled a lot, but as I've gotten older (and had a Brazilian Straightening treatment) my hair has a wavy/beachy curl (but still gets tangled) now which is much more easy to style and give my hair a break from all the heat and styling I do to it. Now lets get in to the products pictured above!
My secret to tangled hair is the Wet Brush, I don't know how it does it but its the best thing I have ever used, I so wish I had this when I was child because it wouldn't have hurt so much when I had to brush my hair. Next is a great detangled spray, I like to use these to my sure hair is easy to brush through later on, I use the Lush Sunny Day one because it does not contain alcohol, which is very hard to find believe it or not. The smell of Sunny Day is amazing by the way! After I have finished combing my hair I move on to a leave in hair product, which basically helps either moisturizes your hair, helps with frizz, etc; its totally up to you depending on your hairs needs. The one I use is by Alterna Caviar CC Cream, keeps the frizz down, moisturizes, and isn't sticky which checks all the boxes for my natural hair. Then of course I put on a hair oil since I have dehydrated hair, you can skip this if your hair is fine and thin because the oil is going to way your hair down. Right now I'm using the one by Ouai, so far I loving it and the packing; I recommend it highly. Now this stuff is the reason how I get those nice beachy waves in my hair, this is call the Bumble and Bumble Don't Blow It (H)air dryer. This product is incredible, because the cream is so light and while your applying it, the instructions tell you to crunch and twist your hair. Get it, thats how you get the effect of loose waves/curls/beachy waves! Please let me know if you tried thee pout and if it has changed your hair. Love, Brittany Seeing as I'm typing this a very rainy Tuesday (no post Monday cause I saw COLDPLAY!! tbh)
I thought it was about time that I write up my favs from this summer! Spf has always been important for me to wear year-round but I step up my game in the summer months, not just because of anti-aging but for my acne. The sun can prolong your acne scars from healing so it turns into a light shadow on your face which doubles the healing time, no way I'm risking that! I have been loving and using the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Spf 60 since March, great drugstore spf if your interested. I had been curious about Pixi's Sun Mist spf 30 ever since I saw it on their Instagram page, unfortunately it is not avaible at Shopper's Drugmart in Canada yet, but if your willing to order it online or go across the border to Buffalo to find the nearest Target then please try it, its great! I really like the chamomile scent, the mist is even, and you can spray this spf over your makeup and doesn't get greasy! I know mind blowing! Another thing is lips, you can burn your lips and trust me it hurts which is why when I found out that Sephora's own brand made lipsticks with spf that had great colour options, I was sold! Last but not least, you always need a facial spray to cool off the Evain facial spray is a cult classic, you can pick the two-pack from Sephora or Nordstrom now sells the bigger bottles if you love this. See back tomorrow for a hair post! Love, Brittany I know what your probably thinking, wow you through products quickly Brit! But no at least to me, it was probably luck. Theres not a whole lot as last time in beauty, mostly in hair stuff because I'm blonde now and need lots of moister to combat my dry hair. Let's get into it. Love, Brittany It is very rare for me to not like the perfumes in my collection because I'am so picky and want to have perfumes that I wont get sick of which is so not like me, but I do know that as people we do go through different stages of things that we like and don't like. Jo Malone is an amazing brand for fragrance, because they have such unique and different scents and you can combine the fragrances to make your own unique scent that no has, which I love. I used to be obsessed with English Pear & Fresica scent, but I used it a week ago and it did not smell like how I remembered (very alcoholly smelling). Next up is Issey Miyake L'eau d'Issey summer edition (I know its mouth full of a name) I picked this up after getting my dad the mens fragrance for fathers day 2 years ago. I liked it a lot but now the smell is too strong for me, but I'm trying to use it up, very slowly if you know what I mean.
Fragrance's I think should check is No.5 L'eau by Chanel its just beautiful, so clean and fresh, and not as in your face smelling as the original and of course Wood Sage and Sea Salt, just go and smell it and you will thank me later! Love, Brittany The first of my summer/autumn posts to come because I'm a "summer person" aka don't want nothing to do with the cold. But I love nails so this post might be helpful for those of you who are not looking putting away your white and neon nail polish, I know my not. I love my gray nails I consider gray a great neutral colour, love. I've also picked some pretty light pinks, "dirty" rose colour polish, and of course a beige/skin-tone like nails. Could not for get a red cause you can wear it all year round and look so put together, my favourite red polishes are ones with a redish-oragnish shades like this one above (unfortunately this one was limited edition sorry). Enjoy my nail polish junkies! See you Wednesday Love, Brittany
Hey guys happy Friday! I apologize for not posting on Monday and Wednesday; Monday was a civic holiday for Ontario and Wednesday, mother nature made an unexpected visit if you know what I mean, no fun. This blogpost I've been planning on writing for awhile now, but was waiting to see the results, but also give a review after using these products, tired and true for 6 months. My skin type is dry to dehydrated, since I used to be on acne medication back in 2014, I had cystic acne which means hormones in my body were causing the acne. I had great skin from there on out, but starting from September 2016 to March of this year, things took a bad turn. There was a lot of drama happening in my personal life especially in my job (I wasn't happy coming to work anymore), thankfully after making some chances to my life and pursuing a new career path (working on my website full-time) my breakouts started, very slowly to calm down, but that wasn't enough, all the scarring and a breakout here and there was still there. The scarring was the worst for me it reminded me of the negative and drama and feeling like I couldn't move on. It all feels like a distant memory now that my skin is under control and I feel great again about myself! These products featured are souly believe have helped keeping my skin clear, while I have others, but these are IT if your experiencing what I did. You might be asking how did I find all these products, which ones didn't work before, etc. Well thanks to Tiffany from Makeupbytiffanyd on Youtube (who I have been watching since I was 16!), recommended of these back in January after experiencing very similar breakouts and problematic skin too! Thank Tiffany for helping me like my skin again, I have always trusted your recommendations, especially now more then ever thanks☺️ LANCER face scrub:
I Hope this helps anyone out there who is having a hard time with their skin and know that you don't have to except that, there is help See you guys next time Bye! Love, Brittany Believe it or not I never wore dresses in the summer, unless I had to go to a wedding. I just loved my denim shorts and still do, I just wanted to wear something easy. Of course most of my dresses are from Nordstrom cause its a one stop shop for me. This one from Leith is my favourite, I love how it was gathered fabric on the sides and around the stomach area. Its very forgiving if you went out for dinner or something. hehehe. Here are a few more dresses I have been wearing. Have a great weekend see ya!
