Who else is ready for the warm weather and the snow to disappear? I am! The "winter blues" anyone else feel like this?! I'm from Toronto, Canada so there's snow, it's super windy today, and freezing temperatures. trying hard to stick to a routine of going to bed a reasonable hour, drinking lots of water and taking a breaks from my phone; all things that we have been told will help us (I'm guilty of sometimes forgetting these important things). Here are some tips that help me get through these long winter months. Spring Candles.I love how candles can instantly up lift you, love anything coconut scented right now because it reminds of the sun. This candle is from Homesense, this brand has loads of different scents and love that it is a soy based candle. Self Care.Taking some to do face mask, jade rolling, and painting my nails gives me that time to take a break. Even when I was sick for most of last week, it was a great reminder and blessing to remind me to slow down and to not beat myself up about not being super productive. Gratitude.Gratitude interrupts anxiety, anger and our circumstances. It is a magnet for healing, growth and peace. I started out with a goal this year to write out a Gratitude journal about what I was grateful for when I woke up & at the end of the day in a blank notebook. I’d get down to the really minute things like a bird singing, pretty sunrise or someone’s laugh, that made me grateful. We’ll always put down shelter, family, health etc. but I challenge you to look for those detailed little blessings that occur each day. When I do this (especially on a bad day), it really turns my day around and that’s when I realized, not every day is good, but there is good in everyday! Get Some Fresh Air.I think you would be surprised by how much it helps. I think just getting away from your phone and internet is so helpful to kinda just rest, refocused, just give yourself that time to breath and come back to whatever you're doing. I personally pick and choose if I want to listen to music (LOVING Ariana Grande's thank u, next album) or not when I go on a walk because sometimes I just want quiet, listening to the sound of cars and nature and I get some of my best blog post ideas from these walks. Whatever you’re walking through, big or small, know that it will get better. There is always hope. I am lifting you up in prayer and sending you lots of love. I hope this post was helpful in anyway to you! xoxo

Happy long weekend to my Canadian followers, it is "family day". You’ve probably seen a lot of buzz about natural deodorants in the last year, especially the Kopari coconut deodorant. I tried a natural deodorant a few years ago, but I had an unexpected allergic reaction to it and found it didn't work at all for me, but I I decided to test out this deodorant on January 1st (give it a good month on testing) especially how great the reviews were and I also love coconut anything! I feel like deodorant is something that’s just part of our normal routine that we don’t necessarily put a lot of thought into. But I have always heard / learned about the ingredients in deodorant and the potentially dangerous side effects of those ingredients, but it is a long process to switch over, I thought Kopari would be different because the brand is very honest about the "Detox Stages". From January 1st-20th everything was going smoothly, the Detox Stages were right I was a little smelly than and a lot more sweaty than normal, become obsessed with the coconut scent, and was starting to become a true believer. Until February 2nd when I noticed I woken up to full blown rash under my armpits! My rash was really red, developed bumps, almost looked a tad bit purple in some lights. To say I was shocked was an understatement, I know I do have sensitive skin and I figured if I was going to have a reaction it would have happened in the first week or two. I went on google right away to find out if there were any reviews about other people having a reaction to the Kopari coconut deodorant and there was, about 50% of people have reactions to the fragrance of this deodorant and the other didn't. Which is why on their website they do offer a fragrance free version, I would like to try it at some point in the future when the discolouration under my armpits goes away. I not saying to not try the deodorant, I'm telling you my experience for other people out there that maybe had broken out into a rash and not sure why OR for people to see just because there is a lot of people trying and saying this product is amazing, this is to give a different perspective. Hope you all have a great week! *NOT sponsored, all opinions are my own.* The best way to get over the winter blues is to look ahead and shop for spring *wink.* I've been looking and ordering a few pieces a little early (I like to shop before each season, easier to find things). Linking everything here for you today, so it’s easy to shop! Today was great going Spring decor something with my mom, getting excited for the snow to melt and the warm sun to come back! JUMPSUIT // SWEATER DRESS // OVERALLS // STRIPPED T-SHIRT // LINEN PALM TREE SHIRT // MARBLE EARRINGS // ESPADRILLES // SWIMSUIT TOP // BOTTOMS
BODY & SHOWER PRODUCTS: GARNIER BUTTER RICH CONDITIONER: -I prefer to use conditioner to shave than using shaving cream because it lasts longer and it's cheaper. -I liked the smell and the consistency of this conditioner. BATH AND BODY WORKS AT THE BEACH TRAVEL SIZE SHOWER GEL: -This travel size lasted for 3 weeks me through out travel through December. -Definitely picking this up again next time! KOPARI COCONUT MELT: -As you already know I love this! -I did find however that when I pick one up from Sephora, it had these hard, crystal like particles in it which meant that I couldn't use the whole jar (maybe due to the cold weather). -I still will continue to purchase the coconut melt because it was transformed my skin! VASELINE ALOE VERA BODY LOTION: -Was using up this from last summer. -Great to apply after spending time outside (ex. walking). LANO HANDCREAMS: -These were from a Christmas gift set. -The formulation of these handcreams are my favourite, they actually work! -Wish LANO did these purse sizes because they were handy to have (no pun intended). -I believe the lemon scent was limited edition, but I wasn't too crazy about. SKINCARE:LANCER POLISH: -This is probably the product that has completely helped with my skin. -It took me a year and half to use this up, so a little does really go a long way. Worth the expensive price tag. FRESH UMBRIAN CLAY MASK: -I love how Fresh have these mini face masks, perfect to try out to see if you like it. -I used this mask to help with my chin which is where I break out the most and it was gentle yet affective. -Definitely will purchase the full size. FRESH SUGAR FCE POLISH: -My favourite exfoliating mask. -It really does help when your skin feel dull and congested at the same time. -My favourite morning moisturizer, haven't found anything that works better! -Already have a new one . FRESH ROSE FACE MASK: -This week I already posted about 5 face masks to try where I talk about my love for this mask. CLINIQUE MOISTURE SURGE 72-HR: -I love using this a night because its light but very hydrating at the same time. -I've loved this since it first launched. DISAPPOINTING PRODUCTS:LAURA MERCIER CAVIAR STICK IN ROSEGOLD: -Every time I purchase this shade the product always falls out, I don't understand why? KOPARI COCNUT DEODORANT: -I have a detailed review coming next Monday, so here's your hint on what I think. KATE SOMERVILLE DRY SKIN SAVER: -Its not that its horrible, its just that I wasn't blown away, it was ok. -I've had this sitting in my Alex 9 drawer for over a year MILK MAKEUP WATERMELON SERUM: -I liked the idea of the serum, but it didn't do any thing for my skin -Plus, once you reach the end of the serum like I did you can see theres all this product at the bottom. But don't waste your time because when you scope it out its doesn't spread on your skin cause it's a solid formula. Happy Valentine's Day my beautiful friends! Take this day appreciate your loved ones (everyday) and yourself <3
One of the my favourite things l love to do for self-care is face masks! You could say this has become a ritual for me in my beauty routine; love to try out new masks all the time, but these are some that I have repurchased time and time again and also the five I had on heavy rotation in the last few months to a year (that did wonders for my skin)… FRESH ROSE FACE MASKThis is my favourite hydrating mask, I have probably repurchased 6 of these jars! I love the smell of rose. This is the perfect mask to use if you have dehydrated skin (especially during the winter months). OLE HENRIKSEN COLD PLUNGE PORE MASKTo be honest I loved the teal colour of this mask which is was I bought it, but it actually does clear out my pores and make my skin feel refreshed. Most pore-like masks very dry and irritate my skin, but this cold plunge mask yes it have a cooling effect, but does the job. FIRST AID BEAUTY BOUNCY MASKI picked this mask up last winter and as I was reading it I was so impressed that I couldn't get wait to get in on my face! It has a a gel texture and in the jar it is actually bouncy. After you send a day out in the windy, cold air, and walking in and out of central heating this mask just plumps up your skin, gets rid of all the redness, and literally bouncy (as the name suggests). CHARLOTTE TILBURY GODDESS SKIN CLAY MASKThis mask is the perfect all-in one, if you're going to a wedding, party, any event you need this. This mask help with calming breakouts, give lots of hydration, and your skin is glowly afterwards. This is a good one if you're in the market to splurge on a skincare item. FRESH SUGAR FACE POLISHThis is my favourite exfoliating treatment because most are too harsh on my skin, while this one is super gentle while effective. This mask smells like a field on of strawberries. I also love how you only need to wear the mask for 3-5 mins and it makes my skin complexion more even and less dull
I love getting cutesy items things time of year as Valentine's Day is very soon. I been very into heart-themed things lately, things that don't look goofy-silly that you could wear all year round. I love it, I think it's so much fun and here are some of my faves that make perfect gifts for that special someone or to treat yourself!!
How have you all been?! Hope you all had a good January, it felt like January was a whole year, did you feel like that too? The winter blues really hit me hard, felt really down; I'm going to dedicate a whole blogpost about how to beat the winter blues.
Who is in the mood for some love? Found the cutest pieces just in time for February down below. Hearts, chocolates, and a bit of pink = my language! 1. KOPARI COCONUT MELT: -This stuff has been a life saver for my skin, was experiencing very dry skin for half of the year and nothing was working until i tried the coconut melt. -The scent is to die for! -Great for all year-round but especially for winter this is a must. 2. BRIOGEO BE GENTLE BE KIND SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER: -This line is amazing for sensitive hair or people who have sensitive scalps (the brand over-all is awesome too). -I recommend getting the set if you ever come across it, save a lot. -Makes your hair feels super clean, very hydrating, and your hair looks shiny awhile. -The scent is great too! 3. FENTY BEAUTY GLOSS BOMB: -I know i'm very late to party on this one; you may think this is just a regular lip gloss, but your lips just look better, the formula is not thick or sticky, beautiful colour, and hydrating too! -When I didn't know what lipstick or gloss to use, I always reach for it! -Now they have added 2 new colours the range and I love them all. 4. CLINIQUE 72 HOUR MOISTURE SURGE: -The best night or day moisturizer! -You have to test it out to understand how light and hydrating the formula is. 5. NARS ORGASM POWDER BLUSH:
-Took me forever to give this one a try. -I always thought that peachy blushes were just over the top shimmery and did nothing for me, but now I feel like my makeup is missing something if I'm not wearing it. Total convert! FIRST ROW: GREEN SLEEVE LACE COCKTAIL DRESS // SKIRT CHIFFON GOWN // BURGUNDY MIDI DRESS // COBALT MIDI DRESS Sorry about being M.I.A recently, been feeling down, but I'm back a ready to get back into my routine! I've been thinking a lot about wedding attire as of late because I have my cousins wedding coming up in July and been looking all the time hahaha. I am going to do a spring/summer wedding guest attire mood board. See you back here tomorrow for a NEW blogpost (to make it up for you guys for not posting as of late). ESSIE GEL COUTURE IN LACE ME UP: -The lasting power of these are incredible, my nails start chipping wearing day 6! -My favourite light pink shade. NAILS INC. GEL EFFECTS IN PORCHESTER SQUARE: -Been wearing this colour since 2014! -This to me is my go-to shade if I'm sure what colour to paint my nails. Goes with everything. DIOR INCOGNITO: -This is the perfect shade of nude for nail polish! -Both my mom and I love this colour. OPI LINCOLN PARK AFTER DARK: -This is such a classic. -I'm not the biggest fan of black nail polish, but I love colours like this that are really dark that it can come across as black. SALLY HANSON MIRACLE GEL IN GET MOD: -I use to believe that all white polishes were the same, but this one gives such a glossy look (cause its gel), doesn't chip, and the brush is so easy to apply. |
